About

Anne Rehkopf Townsend has thirty years’ of professional fundraising experience.

Before launching ART + Strategy in 2005, Anne served as the Director of Development at the Brooklyn Historical Society and the National Academy of Design, two New York City based cultural organizations that gave her direct experience with development planning, board recruitment, major gift strategies, membership programs, capital planning and campaigns, event management and planning, foundation and government grants, direct mail campaigns, and more. Working alongside small teams at these organizations, Anne developed the skills needed to manage multiple projects while understanding the best and most effective ways to use her time and engage other staff and board members in fundraising efforts.

Working with dozens of growing organizations of all sizes under the umbrella of ART + Strategy, Anne has empowered her clients to raise millions of dollars by helping them put a plan in place and coaching them to execute the plan. Once organizations meet their goals, many clients re-engage Anne to chart another course forward. She has become an invaluable resource to many executive directors, often serving as a trusted advisor as they transition to new leadership opportunities.

She received a BA in art history from Newcomb College, Tulane University, is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), and has a Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting from BoardSource. She is currently pursuing her masters in Museum Studies at the City University of New York.

ART + Strategy is proud to be a New York City Certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise.
