Coniqua Johnson-Reed
Coniqua Johnson-Reed transforms organizations into fearless spaces where Black women and BIPOC communities can thrive without compromise. As the Founder and Principal Consultant of Fearless Spaces Consulting, she partners with mission-driven organizations to build equitable infrastructures, facilitate transformative leadership, and dismantle systems of oppression through her signature Build, Facilitate, Dismantle© Framework. With over a decade of experience in organizational development and learning design, she brings a unique blend of grassroots advocacy—from her early work with Planned Parenthood of New York City and the New York Civil Liberties Union—to leading large-scale institutional change at academic institutions and cultural organizations.
Coniqua’s approach is deeply rooted in lived experience and community accountability. After witnessing organizational collapse due to poor infrastructure and experiencing exploitation in the anti-harassment training space, she founded Fearless Spaces to build what should exist—organizations that embody their values in practice, not just on paper. Her work centers healing and justice as interconnected forces, specializing in organizational change and culture transformation, leadership development for BIPOC leaders, and equity-centered program design. With a Master’s in Nonprofit Management from The New School and certifications in mediation and restorative practices, Coniqua serves clients across academic institutions, cultural organizations, and grassroots nonprofits, bringing strategic rigor, cultural understanding, and radical care to every partnership.
