Johann DeJesus
Johann is a well-respected and straightforward seasoned nonprofit executive/consultant with a significant track record of program success. Johann has more than two decades of experience in increasing nonprofit organizations' capacities by providing leadership development, coaching, mentoring, program support, and content-based training. She knows how to build on mission, vision, and values to address systems, structure, and staffing. She is known as a program "fixer." She can restructure failing programs to improve productivity and accountability, revitalize evidence-based programs, and break down performance barriers.
From 2018 to 2023, she was the Executive Director of the La Peninsula Community Organization (La Pen). From 2012 to 2018, she was the Vice President of Youth & Workforce then promoted to the Vice President of Programs and Operations at the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SoBro). From 2008 to 2012, she was the Chief Program Officer at the Grand Street Settlement (GSS). Currently, she is a senior adjunct at Mercy University, teaching management courses. In 2021, Schneps Media recognized Jo as one of New York City's most influential and impactful individuals.
Johann holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle, is an alumnus of the National Urban Fellows’ Leadership Development Program from Baruch College, certified life coach, and received a Master of Science in Human Services Leadership from St. Joseph’s College.
