Neema is the founder and President of  Utu Consulting, a firm dedicated to providing strategic human capital solutions to mission-driven organizations and small businesses. She leverages her extensive experience as an HR leader to address the common challenges small teams and under-resourced HR departments face. Neema is deeply committed to the idea that people are the cornerstone of any organization's mission. Her approach centers on crafting tailored and scalable human capital strategies, enabling organizations of all sizes to leverage effective HR practices in advancing their mission.

Rooted in the Swahili concept of 'Utu,' which celebrates our collective humanity, Neema blends this ethos with modern organizational strategies to enhance workplace environments. Her expertise spans the full range of HR functions, HR operations, HR strategy, employee engagement, talent development, and coaching. Throughout her 15-year career in human resources, she has been instrumental in scaling organizations, enhancing HR capabilities, and fostering employee-centric cultures.

Prior to founding Utu Consulting, Neema held several key HR positions, including Director of Talent and Organizational Development at the Center for Reproductive Rights and Manager of HR at the Surdna Foundation. Her career began at the Stevenson Group, focusing on executive search.

Neema holds a BA in International Business from Fordham University and an MBA in Human Resources Management from Goldey-Beacom College. She is currently advancing her expertise in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Montclair State University, where she has also studied Industrial/Organizational Psychology.

She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and the American Counseling Association. Neema volunteers with New Women New Yorkers, providing career coaching to immigrant women. Neema, who resides in New Jersey but is originally from Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, embodies the global perspective and community spirit central to her work
