PANELIST BIOS
Marnie Berk, Director of Pro Bono Programs, New York Lawyers for the Public Interest
Marnie runs NYLPI’s Pro Bono Clearinghouse. Through partnerships with the private bar, Marnie connects New York’s best legal talent with the most effective nonprofits working on behalf of underserved communities across the city. Marnie also works closely with over 100 of the City’s largest law firms and legal departments to design and grow high quality pro bono programming. Before joining NYLPI, Marnie practiced corporate law at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Hogan & Lovells LLP where she did extensive pro bono work. Marnie received her J.D. from City University of New York Law School and her B.A. from Hampshire College.
Jina Paik, Vice President of Community Impact, Nonprofit Finance Fund
Jina heads knowledge management and is a senior consultant for Nonprofit Finance Fund’s Advisory Service, working with philanthropies, nonprofits and boards on improving how money is accessed, managed and deployed to serve our communities. Through business planning, leadership coaching and management tool development, she supports financial resilience amidst a changing and uncertain economic landscape. Jina is also a frequent partner with advocacy and capacity-building groups to support reforms affecting the social sector financing more broadly. She serves as board treasurer for DanceNYC, has served on the Nonprofit Excellence Award selection committee, and was honored by the New York City Human Services Council as a Next Generation Leader. Jina holds a Master of Science in urban policy analysis from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management, and Urban Policy at The New School, and a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Carnegie Mellon University.
Catalina Spinel, Director of Partnerships, Candid
Catalina builds partnerships and strategies to strengthen the social sector through data, training, and philanthropic insights. She has spent her career advancing innovative solutions to social challenges, previously managing Candid’s New York Learning Center and supporting collaboration programs at the NYC Department of Education. She also developed the UN Victims of Terrorism Support Portal. Catalina holds an MPA from Columbia University and a BA from Universidad de los Andes.
Keith Timko, Executive Director/CEO, Support Center
Keith leads efforts to strengthen the leadership and management of organizations and advance Support Center’s vision for social change. Prior to joining Support Center, Keith was the Director & CEO with Build with Purpose, a nonprofit real estate development organization. Keith brings over twenty five years of experience in nonprofit leadership spanning nonprofit leadership and management, community development, education, and urban policy. Keith is past co-chair with the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and former Treasurer with the NJ Center for Nonprofits and currently serves on the boards of Murray Grove, the National New Markets Fund (advisory), and the Senior Residence at St. Peter the Apostle in River Edge. Keith has a Bachelor’s degree in History and Russian from Rutgers University and a Master in Business Administration from Columbia University and is currently a part-time lecturer in social entrepreneurship at Rutgers Business School.
Laurel Molloy, Board Member at Association of Nonprofit Specialists (moderator)
In addition to being a board member, Laurel is Founder & Lead Consultant of Innovations Quantified (IQ), a consulting firm that has been helping organizations increase their impact since 1999. IQ provides training and ongoing support on program planning, logic models, outcome measurement, and outcome-based reporting. Laurel wrote the widely utilized instructional guidebook, Finally – Outcome Measurement Strategies Anyone Can Understand. She holds an MPA in Nonprofit Management from NYU Wagner and a BA in Sociology and Women’s Studies from Holy Cross.
